While I’ve got a renewed confidence in my next project, it’s been very slow going. As I write this, I organized a few moments to work on the new book and realized it’s going to be more difficult than the first. Not because of any other reason than time. With 3 children under 3, it’s challenging, but they are beautiful distractions to anything and the best part of my life. There is no real regimen set in dedicated time to apply myself to the book. I used to have a “power hour” a couple times a week (P.K. – Pre Kids) to devote to my writing. That’s changed. Today, I’m trying to establish characters, design the setting and carry a predatory stalker theme using my past experiences and storytelling skills. I dream of writing a book on the whole parenting experience too, especially as I churn thoughts while watching my beautiful children growing up. TMB2L was a very fun project to do and as I’ve said, my mission was accomplished. I’ll continue to research and put together the second book. It’s taken shape, but there’s still a long, long way to go.

TMB2L gets an amazing 5-Star review on Amazon.com from “Visiting the Ghost of Puppyboy” Author Rick McGranahan.

Lovesoaked, heartfelt, heartstricken, heartbroke, repeat the previous 4 words over again. I just recovered from this long emotional rollercoaster of steep pick me ups, deep drops, and loops throughout ten months of Tom’s first and most important same sex love affair defining his world as a whole and shaping him into the person he is today. Need I say more or add long paragraphs; certainly not. Tom, I hug you, hold you, squeeze you, and pet your head but most of all applaud your inner strength to chase love as far and long as you could until you could not no more.
Do not read this book before bedtime without Ambien because you will not stop turning the page!

I have started a second book, but progress is slow. It’s a bit challenging to get into the proper mindset to create what I’m calling fiction with beautiful distractions like my children and all the priorities of daily life. I think there’s another book inside me. I’m having fun weaving it. Next time I think I’m going to work harder at selling my work. This self-publishing route is a lot of work.

Being back to writing reminds me that the first shot at the pages is like going back to the gym after a long break. My muscles are sore, I’m huffing and puffing, and I know I’m going to be aching in the morning. It feels good after I’ve done a passage or a page, but finding time to go back to it – and even more challenging, getting in the mood is tough. Might be time to close the laptop, fill the tub, light some candles and grab a pen.
